For the treatment of severe hemorrhoids laser treatment seems to be the solution recommended by the relief centers. They have all the equipment, and use it every day. The recovery time is really quick compared to the old fashioned type of scalpel treatment and it is much more sterile apparently, and much more accurate – they just set the laser and zap away the tissues they want to get rid of. The laser vaporises the tissues. Afterwards you would need some sort of painkillers, but people seem to be allowed home almost immediately once they have recovered from the effects of the anaesthetic.
